Helene-Weigel-Platz, near the Springpfuhl S-Bahn station, is the focal point of the Berlin-Marzahn district and comprises the Altes Rathaus (Old City Hall), a library, swimming pool and a medical centre.

Since 2011, the Center am Helene-Weigel-Platz has made a significant contribution to underpin the square's function as a focal point of the community. This neighbourhood shopping centre brings together retail stores and services, provides space for offices and GP practices, ensures improved access to basic services and a better quality of life. For instance, a Rewe supermarket, Rossmann's drugstore and the Ost dental clinic are just three of the tenants proving popular with residents. The square has also been redesigned and has now become an inviting place to spend one's time, just as a centre should be. This has increased the square's pulling power even further.
